Chocolate Skateboards was founded in 1994 by Rick Howard and Mike Carroll as a sister company to Girl Skateboards, created to accommodate friends who didn't fit into the Girl team. Initially, the name was going to be "Sister," but it was registered by Steve Rocco, so they changed it to Chocolate at the last minute. The company is known for its diverse roster of stylish skaters, unique artistic direction, often led by Evan Hecox, and its close ties with Girl, sharing videos and touring together.
